Paul Washington
Paul Washington is an associate of Building Science Innovators. Paul is a versatile, innovative geologist with experience in many areas of geology including groundwater systems, especially vadose zone, sear-surface, and fractured rock systems. He is a Ph.D. geologist engaged in college teaching and consulting, and is licensed as a Professional Geologist in North Carolina. Paul is currently teaching mineralogy, petrology, and natural resource geology at Marietta College, but he has previously taught in various other institutions, including University of Louisiana at Monroe where he taught groundwater hydrogeology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has also worked in the environmental consulting industry and as a government regulator of environmental issues. Paul works on various energy and building issues including geothermal, slab heat transfer, hydraulic fracturing, and post-flood drying of internal spaces in brick walls.
